Karnesh Singh, Anushka's brother and film producer served as Merchant Navy. Anushka Sharma has completed her education at the Army School, Bangalore and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts (B.A) from Mount Carmel College, Bangalore. Anushka Sharma holds a Master's degree in Economics. Anushka has always wanted to be either a model or a journalist, and never an actor. Anushka joined Elite Model Management after graduating and was trained by Prasad Bidapa, the stylist consultant. In 2017 Anushka made her modelling debut at the designer Wendell Roricks' Les Vamps Show at Lakme Fashion Week and was selected by the designer to be his last model in The Spring-Summer 2007 collection. After her modeling debut in Lakme Fashion Week Anushka did numerous campaigns for various brands, n she has done campaigns to promote the brand's Silk & Shine Whisper Nathella Jewelry and Fiat Palio etc. Anushka Sharma, as well as her modeling career, enrolled in an acting academy and began to audition for films. Anushka appeared in an acting role with Shah Rukh Khan opposite Anushka. For her screen test, she was not willing to take an impromptu one and took one day to get ready. Later, she signed up for three films with Yash Raj Films. In the film, she was portrayed as a young lady who was married to a middle age man (the part Shah Rukh Khan is playing). The film was hit on the box office and was the second-highest-grossing movie of 2008. Anushka Sharma starred in the movie 'Badmash Company that came out in the year 2010. The film also featured Shahid Kapoor and Vir Das. The film was met with mixed receptions. Anushka appeared as an Punjabi girl from the middle class in a movie named 'Band Baaja Baraat.' She starred alongside Ranveer. The movie was a huge success with a lot of praise. Anushka's three-film deal with Yash Raj Films ended with the release of Band Baaja Baaraat.
